Junior Years (1 – 6)
The curriculum supports and empowers all students to learn and achieve personal excellence, regardless of their individual circumstances.
Middle Years (7 – 10)
We are embracing a ‘mastery model’ of teaching and learning in the Middle Years. It is holistic learning that will better prepare students for their senior education years as they progress along each NZ curriculum standard. Mastery-based grading encourages learners to transition from a minimum mind-set to a growth mind-set.
Senior Years (11 – 13)
NCEA (National Certificate of Education Achievement) is the national qualification for senior secondary school students in New Zealand. Individual subjects are divided into standards, some of which are assessed internally and some externally (maximum 3) through NZQA national examinations. Each standard clearly identifies what a student must do in order to achieve that standard and generates credits that contribute to a certificate at Level 1, 2 or 3 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework.
