Student support at Elim is best described as “a net of care”. It includes a proactive, nurturing approach through assemblies, classroom programmes, and tutor times where we aim to support students to build Christian character, develop resilience and learn skills for coping and thriving. Our net of care begins with each student being part of a Tutor/Pastoral Care class. All academic concerns and pastoral care concerns can be addressed at this level initially. At our Botany and Golflands campuses tutor classes belong to a Whanau. We have Learning Support staff, Careers advisors and Counselling services who all work together forming our net of care for students.

Counselling
The Counselling team at Elim works together with others within the broader net of care to provide a professional and confidential counselling service to support students towards the best possible social and educational outcomes and to create a safe physical and emotional environment for students. We aim to provide a safe space to help students explore their difficulties and concerns, and to develop their capabilities and resilience.
